GSC lands 18 players on Daktronics Baseball All-South Region Team

Birmingham, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference landed 18 student-athletes, including both the Pitcher and Player of the Year honors, on the Daktronics Baseball All-South Region Baseball Team on Thursday.

The GSC accounted for 18 student-athletes of the 26-total players announced, including eight of the 16-total First Team members and 10 of the 19 Second Teamers.

Delta State led all GSC institutions with six-total players announced. Earning First Team honors were Tyler Aldridge, Josh Branstetter and Michael Manley. Claiming Second Team honors were Carlos Leal, Jordan Chovanec and Ben Kingsley.

Both West Florida and North Alabama turned in four players each. For UWF, Jake Stephens (2013 Daktronics South Region Pitcher of the Year) and Ben Bridges earned First Team honors, while Kaleb Barlow and Drew Prichard were named to the Second Team. UNA's Dylan Boston was named to the First Team, while Josh Cyr, Jake Ward and Chase Medley were named to the Second Team.

Chandler Brock (2013 Daktronics South Region Player of the Year) earned First Team honors for Alabama Huntsville, while UAH also saw Vincent Kortbawi and Andrew Busby, earn Second Team honors for a total of three players named.

Rounding out the honorees was Jamie Sexton, who earned First Team honors, for West Georgia.
