Birmingham, ALHarding University and the University of West Florida are the 2010-11 Gulf South Conference Men’s and Women’s All-Sports Trophy Champions, respectively.

Harding
earned its first-ever trophy since joining the Conference in 2000-01 and also became the first West Division winner since Central Arkansas in 2005-06. HU snapped Valdosta State’s three-year string of GSC Men's All-Sports Trophies. The Bisons racked up 56.5 total points, followed by second-place West Florida (50.5) and third-place Valdosta State (50.0) which also hit the 50-point mark. Delta State (43.0) and North Alabama (42.0) completed the Top Five. Harding won its third consecutive Cross Country Title and also captured its first-ever Men’s Basketball Tournament Crown. The Bisons closed out the year by making their first-ever Baseball Tournament Title Game and completing their highest-ever finish at the GSC Golf Tournament (eighth).

West Florida
wrapped up its GSC-record sixth consecutive Women’s All-Sports Trophy, eighth in the last nine years. In fact, UWF’s consecutive streak is the longest by any school in Men’s or Women’s All-Sports Trophy history. The Argonauts also celebrated their ninth overall trophy. West Florida collected 61.0 points, clipping Arkansas Tech by 1.5 points in the closest margin since 2002-03. Harding finished in third place with 57.0 points, while North Alabama (52.0) was the only other school to surpass the 50-point barrier. West Alabama completed the Top Five with 42.0 points. UWF tallied GSC Championships in Soccer (third straight), Volleyball (third straight) and Tennis, while collecting a second-place effort in Golf and a third-place finish in Cross Country.

The Conference will present the All-Sports Trophies at its Annual Awards Banquet, Monday, June 20th, at the Hilton Birmingham/Perimeter Park in Birmingham, AL. At that time, the GSC will also recognize its "Top Ten" student-athletes and reveal the winners of the Commissioner's Trophies (presented to the most outstanding male and female student-athlete, based on athletic, academic and extracurricular/community service criteria).
